Nataša Prljević is an artist, curator and organizer who explores the cross-disciplinary processes of displacement and habitation. Using assemblage as a conceptual framework, Prljevic focuses on a transformative potential of political imagination in collision of disparate media, interaction, and collaboration. Selected exhibition venues include: Russell Industrial Center, Detroit; Trestle Gallery, Brooklyn; National Palace of Culture, Sofia, Bulgaria; Museum of Contemporary Art, Novi Sad; Museum of Vojvodina, Novi Sad. Honors include: KulturKontakt Austria Grant; Rackham International Student Fellowship/ Chia-Lun Lo Fellowship, University of Michigan; Dedalus Foundation Master of Fine Arts Fellowship in Painting and Sculpture Nomination; and most recently, a guest artist at Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Chiang Mai and Poh Chang Academy of Arts in Bangkok, Thailand. Prljević holds an MFA from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a BFA from Academy of Arts Novi Sad, Serbia.

Prljević is a co-founder of HEKLER, an interdisciplinary collaborative platform that fosters critical examination of hospitality and conflict. HEKLER organizes events, exhibitions, and discussions with art practitioners, cultural workers, and community organizers that take place at venues provided by HEKLER collaborators and allies in New York and beyond.

Nataša Prljević is the Executive and Curatorial Assistant at Residency Unlimited. During her tenure at RU she helped facilitate network, project and public programing support for RU residents. Prljević worked closely with the Young Visual Artist Awardees from Southeastern Europe. Curatorial projects include: Zorica Zafirovska: Border Crossing; Nina Komel: Charting Absurd at IDIO Gallery in Brooklyn; Nina Simonović: Hesitations 2; Performances by Dardan Zhegrova/Lola Sylaj and Mark Požlep at De-Construct [projects] in Brooklyn.
